My name is Marija Krtinić Veckov and I'm an award-winning cultural journalist and writer. I have 12 years of experience in writing about both high and pop culture for independent political news media in Serbia. My main area of interest is film, but I also cover literature, theatre, music, TV shows. I write reviews, articles, news and feature stories. I have reported from the most relevant film, theatre and music festivals and book fairs in the region of former Yugoslavia and interviewed hundreds of eminent or emerging figures across the arts, including Oscar, Cannes, Venice, Berlinale, Pulitzer and Booker prize winners.
In the last couple of years I have focused on writing fiction as well. I have written to books published in Serbia in 2022. and 2023. and have been awarded literary prizes for my short stories and poetry.
